POLICE are still appealing for witnesses after a violent attack in St Annes

A 19 year-old girl was attacked just after midnight on May 26 as she walked past the disused Fairways garage on St David's Rd North.
Two females approached the woman and asked her for a cigarette. Despite handing one over, the females tried to steal another. As the victim walked away she was punched to the floor.
She was then repeatedly kicked and punched in the stomach. One of the girls then scratched the victims hand with a piece of broken glass, and struck her with a piece of wood.
As the victim ran home she was pursued by the two females.
The first female was described as roughly 16 years old, of chubby build, roughly 5ft tall and wearing dark clothing.
The second female is also described as being 16 years old, about 5ft 8" and with dark hair. She was wearing a black jumper, dark tracksuit bottoms and white trainers.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on (01253) 293933 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
