AN annual dog show was cut short yesterday - by freak weather conditions.
The annual Blackpool Dog Show was brought to an abrupt end after strong winds blew down marquees.

Four people suffered injuries as a result at the event on Westby Road, Westby.

One person had cuts and bruises and another a dislocated shoulder.

A cook inside one of the marquees suffered second degree burns caused by hot fat and another person had a suspected heart attack.

All were taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital for treatment.

Three marquees blew down and traffic chaos was caused when one blew into the road, which was closed by police.

Trees had been blown down in School Lane, Blackpool; East Park Drive, Blackpool; Roman Way, Kirkham; Clifton Lane, Clifton; Best Street, Kirkham; School Lane, Newton; Windy Harbour Road, Singleton; Folkestone Road, St Annes and Bold Street, Fleetwood.

One man escaped with minor injuries after being hit by a falling tree on Manor Way, Kirkham.
