Spotting faces in the crowd
EXPRESS readers have been getting in touch after seeing events close to their hearts appear in Reflections.
Angela Jacques contacted Reflections after seeing pictures in an edition of a local event she helped organise.
The picture was published a couple of months ago and shows youngsters enjoying a 'Round The World' event by Guides and Brownies.
Fylde girls dressed in the costume of different countries and sampled food and activities from the countries they represented.
The photograph was originally thought to have depicted a production of Aladdin.
However, Angela Jacques, from All Saints Road, St Annes, realised that she had actually attended and arranged the event as District Commissioner for the Guides, along with the guiders of Beauclark District.
Angela isn't the only person to get in touch after recognising a picture in Reflections.
Pamela Seddon, who left Lytham in 1998, was in one of the Club Day photographs published last year and was spotted by a friend, who sent the article on to her home in Berwickshire.
Mrs Seddon has fond memories of Club Days and returned annually to Lytham to attend the special day for a number of years.
She said: "I am the lady at the front of the picture.
"Richard who is next to me is our youngest son, who is now 39 - years old.
"We lived on Saltcotes Road and attended St Peter's RC Church.
She added: "We were all involved in Club Day, generally in the parade itself and behind the scenes with playgroup and Club Day Committee with the late Bill Illingworth and Frank Brucklesby.
"I have so many good memories, and it was nice to be reminded. I was able to get the original glossy black and white photograph, so that is in my Club Day Album."
