A PROCESSION featuring Club Day queens and retinues, circus entertainers, floats from community groups, marching bands and local businesses launched Lytham Club Day on Saturday.
Crowds lined the streets to help celebrate another memorable club day which included a riot of colour and music starting with Blackpool town crier, Barry McQueen, leading the parade from Station Road.
Lytham trader John Strong watched the Club Day procession snake through the centre of the town and said: "It was a good day – there was a great turnout from everybody"
He added: "I don't think there was any trouble and it was a good family day out.
"It was a bigger procession than the last two years. There seemed to be more going on."
Club Day rose queen Alexandra Booth, 14, of Lytham Methodist Church, was crowned at Lowther Gardens. The Arnold High school pupil designed her own dress for the event.
Retiring rose queen Laura Hopper, 18, of Trent Street, took part in the march through the town.
Rosemary McFarlane, vice-chairman of the Lytham Club Day committee, said: "It has been a massive parade. We have over 80 participants and the march lasted a long time. We've had some wonderful marching bands.
"It has been a fantastic day and there has been a spectacular turnout."
