A BRAND new scout hut at Kirkham and Wesham has been officially unveiled by Fylde MP Michael Jack.
The scout group has benefited from fund raising activities from local companies and individuals as it revamps its facilities.

Phase one of the renovation involved the completion of an entrance hall, offices, toilet facilities and main activity room and was opened by Mr Jack on October 24.

Group Scout Leader Richard Lee said: "The evening went incredibly well.
"Michael Jack was supposed to leave at 8.30 but didn't leave until past 9 o'clock because he was having such a good time.

"Everybody who has seen the hut very pleased with it - although we are not calling it a hut because I can tell you its rather more than that! We call it a scout centre now."

Phase two of the rebuild programme will be the demolition and rebuilding of the stores and garages and it has been estimated that this will cost approximately £30,000.

"We are now looking at stage two which will involve replacing the stores and the garage as that's the bit we haven't managed to replace
yet. We would like to be able to do that as soon as possible but it all depends on how many grants we relieve and how much money we can raise. We'll do almost anything we can to raise the money."
