SOMETHING is brewing in St Annes that is about to lead to a new charity organisation being launched locally.

A big tea party this weekend will coincide with the launch of a new Home-Start scheme.
Home-Start is a voluntary organisation which selects and trains volunteers to work closely with an individual vulnerable family, offering support, friendship, g
uidance and help for a few hours each week.
The Fylde steering group has been working towards setting up a Home-Start scheme in the Fylde area, initially piloted at St Annes.
A special Home-Start Big Tea Party – part of a national initiative by the charity – will take place this Saturday from 10am-noon, to launch the scheme and raise much needed funds.
The event, at St Thomas's School, St Thomas's Road, St Annes, will feature stalls and rafflles, refreshments, games and prizes and more, and will be opened by mayor elect councillor Susan Fazackerly.
The Sainsbury's store in St Annes has adopted the local scheme as its charity for the year.
Store manager Stephen Spencer and staff will be at the tea party helping to serve some of the refreshments which will be provided by the store.
Kath Asquith, vice-chairman of the new charity group, said: "Home-Start schemes are already running in all other areas of Lancashire – Blackpool has a thriving group based in Grange Park."
